It was originally founded by pirates who tired of pillaging, and is now inhabited by their descendants. The coastline differs between [[Day-night cycle|day and night]]; at nighttime, the tides rise. When this happens the player is able to see the location of the [[Karstaway stone]] inside a small whirlpool, which is needed to enter the lower levels of the [[Cascade Cave]] and retrieve the fabled [[Sands of Time]] and [[Liquid metal sword]].
