The '''Ersatz Estark''' is a recurring {{MFamilies}} in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in {{Dragon Quest VII}}.

It is a mechanical {{MFamilies}} built in imitation of [[Estark]], the Emperor of Hell.

==Characteristics==

Ersatz Estarks are massive [[Machine family|mechanical]] suits of living purple armour with a fearsome demonic face in the center of its body. In each hand, they wield a broadsword that they use to unleash devastating slashing attacks. Their arsenal consists of powerful explosive magic and breathing out blasts of ice-cold air from their maws. They can also nullify any beneficial effects possessed by their enemies with a '''[[Disruptive Wave]]''' or by emitting a mysterious mist on the battlefield. It is unlikely that this {{MFamilies}} is the same [[Estark]] that appears in other titles, especially since it is a normal {{MFamilies}} (though its appearance bears a homage to both him and {{Psaro B}}). Regardless, the Ersatz Estarks that are fought are still very powerful and are also one of the {{MFamilies}}s that players can become, either by mastering other {{MFamilies}} vocations or by obtaining an Ersatz Estark's heart.

In the [[Nintendo 3DS]] version, it is possible to obtain an Ersatz Estark heart by creating a [[Traveller's Tablet]] with one as the boss, although it will be a formidable opponent.
