==Appearence==
The '''hydra''' is a [[Dragon family|dragon]] type {{MFamilies}} that was first introduced in {{DQ3}}, and remained exclusive to the title until the release of {{DQMSL}} in 2014.
The design of the Hydra is the one of an enormous reptilian being which is covered in blue scales and has five heads instead of one. At the top of each head there are red-colored crests that go from the front of the head to the base of the neck. In each limb there are four fingers that end up in white, sharp claws. It has yellow eyes.


In [[Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2]], its [[Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional|Professional]] version and [[Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D|Terry's Wonderland 3D]] version the appearence of Hydra is the one of its subspecies: [[Orochi]]. So it has green scales instead of blue, and grey purplish crests instead of red; the eyes however remain yellow.
