Itemized Kill is the Coup de Grâce technique for the Thief vocation, which guarantees the filching of treasure from the targeted monster.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit | edit source]
Only one instance of Itemized Kill can be applied to a single monster, but it can be used on multiple targets. Rare items have a chance to drop along with the guaranteed normal loot, but this chance is the same as that particular rare items normal rate.
This ability does not improve the odds of gaining the rare 2% chance drop equipment held by the bosses lurking in Grottos, being the Angel's robe, Apprentice's gloves, Brain drainer, Hallowed helm, Hero's boots, Invincible trousers, Sensible sandals, Spring breeze hat, Tropotoga, Vesta gauntlets, & Victorious armour.
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Itemized Kill now damages the targeted monster, based on the deftness of the Thief, and will stun it for 15 seconds regardless if anything was half-inched or not. Normal items will always drop, and the rate of a monster's rare item increases by an unknown amount.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
Itemized Kill is a pep power that requires Erik to have learned Half-Inch and the Hero to have learned Flame Slash; however, the Hero does not need to be equipped with a one-handed sword to perform this technique. Both parties need to be pepped up to perform this pep power. The Luminary slashes the target for 120% Fire damage and Erik attempts to steal the item.
Erik has a 1⁄6 chance (in addition to +1% per 20 deftness) to steal a rare drop (unlike Half-Inch, which has the same chance to steal a common drop). If this chance fails, Erik will steal the common drop of the targeted enemy, unless it has already been Half-Inched (or the enemy is carrying nothing), in which he will steal nothing.
