Kacrag is the penultimate Earth-element spell, second only to Kacraggle and being superior to Crag and Craggle. It sets a magic circle underneath a group of foes, damaging all of them with jagged rock spires for a set number of turns.

Localization history[edit | edit source]

ジバリーナ was first localized into English in 2017 as Mountainmover, debuting in Dragon Quest Heroes II and reappearing in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. In 2023 with the released of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, the spell would receive a second English name through Kacrag, and it stayed onwards this way.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

The spell costs 16 MP and deals 130~150 Earth damage. It is learned by rangers at level 69.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]

Erik learns Mountainmover at level 42, and it costs 20 MP to cast. It will cause damage to enemies just before they take action for three turns, dealing 96~120 base damage and reaching 188~212 once the former thief's magical might hits 200.

  • In the 3DS version the spell activates at the very beginning of combat, independent of turn order.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit | edit source]

Kacrag costs 28 MP and will deal 114〜126 Earth damage to all enemies at the start of the next turn cycle. Once the monster's wisdom stat reaches 99, the spell will deal 209~231 damage.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit | edit source]

Kacrag has the same attributes as in the previous game.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit | edit source]

Kacrag costs 23 MP and is learned through the Bombshell and Crag Virtuoso talents. It has a base power of 130 and will deal an average of 230 once the monster's wisdom stat reaches 999.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit | edit source]

Kacrag refers to ジバリカ, the second-tier earth spell in this game due to an oversight. It can be learned by marble slimes, ham shamwitches, wight princes, and shiny draglings at level 18, automatically upgrading from Crag. It costs 9 MP to cast and creates a small magic circle that will deal earth-element magic damage to any enemies that enter it after a short amount of time passes. The spell will automatically upgrade to Craggle at level 33.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[edit | edit source]

Dragon Quest of the Stars[edit | edit source]

Mountainmover is an A-rank spell that deals major Earth-element spell damage to all enemies, has a CT of 40s (26s at max level) and can be obtained from the Falcon Knife Earrings.
