Kazapstrophe is a fourth tier of Lightning spells in the series, introduced in the Joker subseries of the monsters series. Kazapstrophe replaces Kazapple as the ultimate Lightning spell and boasts more utility, requiring a single character to use in most appearances. True to the spell's name, it rains the fury of the gods on to the caster's enemies in the form of colossal thunderbolts several meters wide.

Kazapstrophe is a Lightning-element spell that requires the cooperation of the whole party to cast.

Localization history
This spell was originally named Kazapple. However, there was another fourth-tier lightning spell called Kazapple on other games, which is actually ジゴデイン Jigodein in the original Japanese naming.
On DQ11, as both Minadein and Jigodein were present, they decided to name this one Kazapstrophe instead to lessen the confusion of two spells with the same name.

Kazapstrophe was used by a variety of monsters and was added to Anlucia's spell repertoire for the version 5.3 update onwards, thus making it available to players. It costs 27 MP to cast and the damage range will depend on the user, with the lowest end for monsters being 250~350 and the high end being approximately 600.
Appears briefly during the story of the fourth expansion of the game.

startKazapstrophe is used by the protagonist in version 5.5+ to defeat the Great Source of Darkness, Jagonuba. To perform this spell, the protagonist receives the power of all living beings on the planet (from residents of Astoltia, Nadragand and Netherworld) thanks to the help of Goddess Luciana. Once the energy is gathered, the survivor of Tenton uses Kazapstrophe with the help of all their summoned allies like Anlucia, Shaka, Estelle or Valeria. The massive spell fulminates Jagonuba, killing him on the spot.

Kazapstrophe is a three-person pep power that is available to players when the Luminary learns Zapple and Jade masters Lightning Storm. When used, Jade and Rab will channel magical energy to the Luminary who sends it crashing down on all enemies. The damage calculation is based on the sum of The Hero and his grandfather's magical might, capping for 594~654 at 975 magical might. Furthermore, the spell has a 25% chance to paralyze foes and a 25% chance to lower their resistance to Lighting by one stage.
Appears as a Pep power performed by 4 characters including the Hero 11 (providing he knows Kazap).
Deals lightning damage to all enemies, damage is scaled by the total Magical Might of the characters, and can go up to 1500.

ミナデイン was added in the Professional version of the game. It drains the entire party's MP and is only marginally stronger than ジゴデイン, but the allies of the caster can act while the spell is used and thus has much greater utility than in previous games.

An evil version of the spell is used by Calasmos during the final battle, known as Chaotic Kazapstrophe.

Kazapstrophe has a base damage of 230~290 and will increase in power once a monster's wisdom surpasses 524, capping out at 422~482 damage. It costs 30 MP to cast, and features the same parameters in all three titles.

Kazapstrophe has the same MP cost and power as seen in the Joker trio.
ミナデイン has two versions, one for the Luminaries of the Legendary line seen in DQ2 and another for the Chosen of DQ4. In first version the three cousins are shown entering the scene by riding upon Empyrea's back, with the Prince of Midenhall channeling the power of the thunderbolt blade to contribute. There are two versions of the latter for the male and female Hero 4, with Healie aiding Ragnar by donating his MP. Psaro C is also present in the group, but refuses to assist and merely observes.

Loss leaders are able to cast the spell, and if it is reflected back at them it will deal approximately 1,200 damage.
