The killer croaker is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a powerful variant of the frogface that hides a demonic face on its back.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
As is the case with its other varieties, the killer croaker is only threatening when made to have its Oni-like face turned towards the party. They have dark blue skin and pinkish-purple spots all over their bodies. Since the frogs can cast Thwack and unleash breath attacks from their demonic faces, it is highly recommended to use sleep-inducing moves and attacks capable of defeating them in a single blow in order to avoid confronting their unfavorable sides.
