Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The kingsblade is in a treasure chest in an underground chamber below Estard castle, accessible from a hidden entrance behind the set of stairs leading to the upper floors. Players can approach the chest, but it is blocked off by cell bars and requires the Ultimate Key to open, which means the sword cannot be obtained until the final fragment of the past has been restored and the Hero is beckoned to the Cathedral of Light.
The sword increases the bearer's Attack by +120 and Style by +55, and can be equipped by the Hero and Aishe. Due to the protagonist already having access to several high-tier swords, the kingsblade is better left to the Roamer. Interestingly, cheating devices that grant players access to every weapon early on reveal that Kiefer can equip the sword as well--though this is impossible under normal conditions, it is an interesting point that reinforces Aishe's connection to Estard.
