Perfect panacea, also known as Greater panacea, is a healing item in the series.

The perfect panacea cures a single party member of the effects of poison/envenomation, paralysis, sleep, and confusion, as well as restoring a large amount of HP, and is consumed upon use. In its original appearance (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King), it could fully restore a character's HP, but it was reduced to restoring around 90~120 HP in later games. In Dragon Quest XI, the perfect panacea is able to remove curses as well. The item art depicts it as a red pellet of medicine inside of a finely-decorated green-and-gold box.
