The pointy hat is recurring piece of headwear in the Dragon Quest series. It is typically a low to level hat that provides a decent amount of defence.

It can be purchased from Theddon and the shop at the third Treasures n' Trapdoors near the Shrine Jail for 2,300 gold, or otherwise sold for 1,725 gold, and only appears in remake versions of the game. The pointy hat has a defence bonus of +3 and can be purchased from Fortuna for 70 gold. It can be equipped by many monster companions, as well as Sancho.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]

The pointy hat has a defence bonus of +3, but reduces style by 2. It can be equipped by Nevan along with the Slime companions, and is sold in Alltrades abbey.
