The '''Rebirth stone''' is an item introduced in {{DQ2}}. So far, the only other installment it has appeared in has been {{DQ5}}, in which its effect was completely changed.

In {{Dragon Quest II}}, they are rare drops by [[Liquid metal slime]]s, and can be used to save your game on the spot anywhere on the map (outside of battle) without having to visit a king or priest. When you load a game saved using a rebirth stone, you are transported to the town in which you last saved. They can be sold for 7,500 [[gold]] coins.

In {{DQ5}}, they are held items that, so long as they are in a character's inventory, will immediately [[Kazing|revive]] them upon defeat. However, each rebirth stone can only serve its purpose once before being consumed.
