The sage's elixir is an intermediate healing item in the Dragon Quest series. It restores around 90 MP to a single party member. In games where Alchemy is a mechanic, it can be created by mixing some magic water with other materials. It can occasionally be found in treasure chests or dropped by monsters in later stages, as well.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

	An enchanted elixir that restores around 90 MP to a single ally.

Sage's elixir restores around 90~100 MP to a single party member. Although it cannot be purchased normally in any shops, phials could occasionally be purchased from the DQVC during various sales for 1,500 gold, and it can be sold for 750 gold. Sage's elixirs have a 10% chance of being found in Rank 7 (C), Rank 8 (B), and Rank 9 (A) blue treasure chests, and a 15% chance of being found in Rank 10 (S) blue treasure chests. Two phials can be dropped by the Dreadmaster and Hootingham-Gore. More can be dropped rarely by freezing fogs or stolen from fowleye.

Sage's elixir can be made in the Krak Pot and is used in the following alchemy recipes:

Dragon Quest X

Sage's elixir only restores around 70~76 MP to a single character in this game. There are various ways to obtaining phials, such as finding them in treasure chests, receiving them in exchange for three Mini medals each, winning one randomly as a prize by playing Tombola, or received as a reward for completing certain quests.

Starting with Version 3.0 of the game, two phials of sage's elixir can be made in the Alchemy Pot by combining three phials of Magic water together. Version 5.0 also introduced a recipe that allows players to create 20 phials of sage's elixir at once by combining 30 phials of magic water.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Sage's elixir once again restores at least 90 MP to a single party member. It cannot be purchased normally from any shop, but phials can be redeemed as a prize from Octagonia's casino for 1,000 tokens each. It can be sold for 750 gold.

Phials of sage's elixir can be used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

• Recipe: Guru's gloves = Dragon hide x2 + Thinkincense + Sage's elixir
• Recipe: Supreme sage's staff = Wyrmwood x3 + Spellbound bough x2 + Sage's elixir + Thinkincense x2
• Recipe: Minister's mitts = Thinkincense x3 + Serpent skin x2 + Fine fur x2

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Sage's elixir makes its first appearance in the series, restoring around 90 MP to a single monster. Phials can be purchased from the department store at Domus Isle for 750 gold each once the tournament starts and they can be sold for 375 gold. They can also be found randomly in brown treasure chests or can be dropped by mud mannequins, lesser demons, skeleton soldiers, and wailin' weeds.
