Shogum is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing as a grotto boss in Dragon Quest IX. He is a red and black variant of Slionheart. His name is a combination of "Shogun" and "gum".
Characteristics
Shogum is a diminutive humanoid knight riding on top of a giant red slime, both possessing bushy white beards. The slime has a knight's visor on top of its heads and a short black cape that flows from its back. The knight wears black clothing with a set of dark blue and gold armor, a long red cape, and a blue and green crown on his head. He dual wields a pair of large broadswords that are bigger than himself.
