'''Tongue Lashing''' is a breath attack in the [[Dragon Quest]] series that first appeared in [[Dragon Quest V]]. It tries to give a single enemy goosebumps - in other words, incapacitate them for a single turn, preventing them from doing anything until the next one. It can be especially irksome when used by groups of enemies that know this technique, as they can chain them together and prevent one or more characters from doing anything for each turn of the fight, lowering one's overall offensive power and preventing healers from healing when needed.  The [[Sultry Dance]] and [[Leg Sweep]] are similar to this ability.
