The Tortoise Shell is a recurring armor in the Dragon Quest franchise. This large shell serves as makeshift protection, and does not slow down the wearer.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III (Remake)

Known as the Turtle armor, it had the defense bonus of +15, and could be worn by Mages, Merchants and Jesters.

Dragon Quest V

The tortoise shell has a defense bonus of +33.

Dragon Quest VI

The tortoise shell may be equipped by Nevan, Amos, and all of the slime recruits. It provides +33 defense, -15 style, and costs 2,500g.

Dragon Quest VII

Dragon Quest VIII

The turtle shell has a defense bonus of +37. Only Yangus can wear it.
