The trap box (トラップボックス, Torappubokkusu?) is a boss monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. It is the first mimic in the series not to remain hidden in its treasure chest, revealing a ghastly skeleton within.
