The Anchorman is a recurrent monster in the Dragon Quest series and it was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII.

Anchormen are animated anchor monsters. Their body consists a rusted iron anchor, with two yellow eyes in one of the sides of it, and a rusted chain that makes this monster to attack the player from the depths of the ocean. They are probably the anchors of wrecked ships, that came to life thanks to the possession of the souls of those who died in the shipwreck.
