The Well wisher can be found in the The Beacon in the past. It can also be found in wells throughout the world. The Well wisher also has a rare chance of dropping an Well wisher Heart, allowing one party member to become an Well wisher when it is taken to the Alltrades Abbey 7.

This Well wisher appears as a boss in Gröndal. It should be treated as a stronger version of an Well wisher. There isn't anything spectacular with this boss to merit any worry. However, don't waste much magic power on this one because the Fighting batboon is right after this fight.

Their name is based upon the term well wisher, which means someone that desires happiness and success for others, often openly expressing such. This comically at odds with the monster that only seeks to cause the party trouble and harm. Traditionally, people have thrown money into the bottom of wells in the hopes of having their wishes granted, which adds another layer to the pun.

For the monster class in Dragon Quest VII, see Well wisher (vocation).

The Well Wisher is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation. The wart-covered, red demon is a monster that hides in wells around the world. It is quite strong and has a penchant of throwing rocks and screaming a War Cry.

Characteristics

With a demonic physique that barely fits in the well itself, and red-orange pock marked skin, drool dripping from its maw, the Well Wisher can be a terrifying surprise for adventurers looking to explore the bottom of unexplored wells. In battle the Well Wisher hurls stone that skip across and do damage to the entire party, along with holding its breath for a boisterously big attack. At times the Well Wisher will just sit and grin manically rather than attacking, and others it will duck back into it's lair and leap up to surprise the party, making them miss a turn.

In Dragon Quest VI they begin the battle with Bounce already cast, protecting them from magic attacks and debuffs.
