Papas, also known as Pankraz, is the father of the hero from Dragon Quest V. He once ruled as king of Granvania but when his wife was kidnapped after giving birth he went on a quest to find her, never telling his son about his royal blood until right before his death at the hand of Gema and his minions. You never control Papas in the game but when he does journey with you he makes a powerful ally.
