The '''Bad egg''' (formerly ''Eggeron'' and ''Egg soldier'') is a recurring monster in the ''[[Dragon Quest series|Dragon Quest]]'' series. Introduced in ''[[Dragon Quest VII]]'', it is an egg monster with a white shell.

The bad egg is actually an unknown monstrous monster egg, rolling into battle and ready to hatch into all sorts of weird and wonderful strange species. It's impossible to tell which kind of monster it will actually be until it hatches, if it gets a chance to before the battle ends. An evil eye and a small, sneaky red-lipped smile can be seen through the pitch blackness inside the egg.
