The '''Boxer shorts''', known as the '''steteco pants''' in Japanese, are a common piece of clothing in the {{DQSeries}} that were first introduced in {{DQ5}}.

 

They are generally considered a gag piece of equipment notable for their low defensive properties and they can only be worn by male characters.

The Boxer shorts have a {{Defence}} bonus of +8 and only [[Yangus]] can wear them. Oddly enough, they cannot be worn by [[Morrie]] in the {{3DS}} version. They cannot be purchased anywhere, but can be sold for 50 [[gold]] and are found in various locations throughout the game, the earliest being in the [[Farebury Region|Region]] of [[Farebury]]. They can be used to make the [[Leather kilt]] and [[Robe of serenity]] in the [[Alchemy Pot]]. They can also be created using the alchemy recipe of [[Bandit's grass skirt]] + [[Bandana]].

In the original Japanese version, the boxer shorts are known as the steteco pants, a type of loose cotton shorts traditionally worn by Japanese men underneath kimonos or hakama as underwear, particularly during the summer.
