A '''Spiked hare''' is identical in looks to a bunicorn, only having purple fur instead of gray. Originally, it was pink colored and the original concept art reflected this. Later, it became a darker purple.

In terms of strength, the typical spiked hare is often a threat encountered early on, usually at around the time when the lesser bunicorn is no longer troublesome. It is often capable of building up its strength to launch a powerful attack.

The Bunicorn is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest III, it is a gray rabbit with a large horn and a hare-raising temperament.

Characteristics

Bunicorns are rabbits with a single horn, parodying the fabled unicorns. They have gray fur, and the horn is often a yellowish brown shade. Unlike real-life lagomorphs, Bunicorns are fiercely territorial and will think nothing of skewering a human that crosses their path.

As enemies typically encountered at the start of a game, Bunicorns are not particularly strong, though they typically outweigh the likes of Slimes. Due to this, Bunicorns are usually a threat to players who take to traveling too far before getting better equipped and leveled at the start of their journey.

Golden corns (ールデンコーン) are identical in looks to bunicorns and spiked hares, however despite their names they are not entirely golden. Their fur has two tonalities: white and golden. The horn is similar to that of a spiked hare's, although gold. Finally, they have red eyes with yellow irises.
