Melvin is a wise hero who once fought beside god in the fight against the demon lord Orgodemir. God valued his help so much that he sealed Melvin inside a stone so that he could be awakened again when he was needed again. The Hero of Dragon Warrior VII first find the hotstone in a man named Bruego's possession and travel together with him to the world's tallest tower to try and resurrect Melvin. When they reach the top Melvin comes out of the stone not even knowing the outcome of the battle between god and the demon lord and decides to join the Hero to find the truth about what happened during the battle.
