The cautery sword (also known as destruct sword) is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. If used as a tool in battle, it casts Sizz on enemies.

The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +45. It can be purchased in Mostroferrato for 4,400 gold.
Dragon Quest VII
The destruct sword has an attack bonus of +42 and an appearance bonus of +23. It can be purchased for 5,400 gold and can be equipped by the Hero, Melvin, and Aira.
Dragon Quest IX
