The hell hopper is a monster that was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

A demonic pest from the seventh circle of hell, this boot-dwelling brawler has a penchant for limiting your party's options and smartly side-stepping some physical strikes. It's also notable for being one of only two practitioners of Ban Dance among the monster population and for being a source of elevating shoes. Interestingly, the description for Dragon Quest VIII implies that the boot is a living, breathing creature.
