Hauksness (or Domdora) is a town in the desert past Swamp Cave.
Dragon Quest
Hauksness was destroyed by the Dragon Lord's minions and has since become infested with their kind. Erdrick's Armor, the best armor in the game, can be found in the ruins but is protected by an Axe Knight.
Dragon Quest II
With no apparent survivors of the destruction of the town, nothing is ever done to Hauksness to restore it. The ruined settlement is consumed by the surrounding desert some time between the events of the first game and this one.

Hauksness is where it was in Dragon Quest I, but is a struggling town dealing with water shortage.
