The Dark Robe is a recurring armor in the Dragon Quest franchise. It's a cowl with a midnight blue dye, and is typically worn by thieves.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
Appearing in the Super Famicom, Gameboy Color, and mobile phone remakes, the Dark robe provides Magi, Gadabouts, and Thieves +74 defence and 25% evasion. It may be found within Merkado.
Dragon Quest V
The dark robe has a defence bonus of +55. It can only be worn by certain monster companions, and reduces frizz, sizz, woosh, and crack damage by 20 points.
Dragon Quest VII
Dragon Quest VIII
The dark robe has a defence bonus of +87, and raises evasion by 25%. It can be worn by Yangus.
Dragon Quest IX
The dark robe is the second tier of the Velvet cape line of cowls, and the first in the set to demonstrate the series' proficiency at dodging enemy strikes, much like a bat in the night.
