The Fly-by-knight is a recurring monster in the series, introduced in Dragon Quest VII. It can be found in the Mountaintop Tunnel in the past and Nottagen Cavern. It is also one of the forms a mega egger will become when hatched.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Ghostly, ghastly, sneaky shadow knights that live in the dark, slicing any enemy that intrudes with their spinning sabres. Even though they're barely there, their green eyes and red maw shine from their shadowy incorporeal form. Upon defeat they simply fade out of existence.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
