In the Dragon Quest III remakes, genius is a personality that improves agility and wisdom growth, but reduces resilience and luck growth.
The hero cannot become a genius at the start of the game.
Other party members have a chance to be a genius when recruited as any class except warrior or martial artist, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character becomes a genius permanently by reading the The Eureka Moment book.
