Gomechan is a winged, gold metal slime from the series Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai.
He is Dai's best friend and follows him everywhere. He is something of a coward.
Etimology[edit | edit source]
"Gome" is an abbreviation of his species's name, Golden Metal Slime; and "Chan" comes from the Japanese honorific for close friends and family. Dai couldn't pronounce Gomechan's full species's name, so he shortened it.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Gomechan is a golden, metallic slime with wings. Compared to other slimes, his eyes are much bigger. Unlike other gooey creatures, it has teeth.
Gomechan's speech is limited to only saying "pii" most of the time; however, Gomechan was able to speak fluently during a dream sequence in episode 32 of the 2020 version of The Adventure of Dai.

The Adventure of Dai[edit | edit source]
Gomechan is a resident of Dermline Island, where he lives with Dai, Brass and many other friendly monsters. Gomechan accompanies Dai on his grand adventure, and is almost always next to him. He has been Dai's best friend since they were small children, and they share a strong bond.
Given it's rarity and golden body, Gomechan was targeted by the fake hero's party. After being saved by Dai, the King of Romos recognizes Dai as a hero and gift's him the crown of champions.
Eventually, Gomechan joins Chiu's party.

Dragon Quest of the Stars[edit | edit source]
Gomechan appears as an NPC in the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai collaboration events, and can be obtained as a helper. When equipping the Gomechan accessory, he will appear alongside the character.
He and Chiu appeared as limited-time units for the Monster Arena.
