When the hero's group enters Emberdale, a town that worships the [[Fire Spirit|God of Flame]] they see that the town is preparing for a festival. The Gaffer explains that there will be a festival known as the Flaming Festival, in which they receive a new PilotFire and return the flame in the volcano's core. He invites the party to stay.

After finding the [[Flame Spirit]], they give him the FlameAqua. He challenges the party to a fight. After defeating him, he frees Emberdale and [[Dharma Temple (Dragon Quest VII)|Alltrades Abbey]] from the darkness.
