The Hell raiser is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a high-ranking monster that serves as a priest of hell.
Characteristics
Hell raisers are squat undead priests with dark indigo skin, solid yellow eyes, along with skin and fins around their face that are also coloured yellow. Their lower canine fangs are displayed prominently from their yellow mouths. They wear purple robes with magenta collars and hats in the same colour, carrying tall rods topped with rings. The hell raisers are able to use these rods to channel lightning and they are also able to revive their fellow monsters with the Zing spell. Although the priests have not made a reappearance in the main series, they have made regular appearances in spinoff games.
