A heyedra (pronounced HI-dra) is a bizarre monster that hung from the ceiling, introduced in Dragon Quest II. It was originally localized as an Evil Eye. It is a large red eyeball with four feet and twelve tentacles coming out of it.

Not only was the name changed to Heyedra (from Evil Eye), but instead of the creature hanging from the ceiling, it was now on the ground.
