The Imp knife is a recurring weapon in the series. It is a handy shiv for sorcerers to siphon MP from enemies.

Appearances

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

The imp knife is a weapon for Jessica in all versions, as well as Red in the 3DS port that can only be created via alchemy. It has an attack bonus of +52 and a 25% chance to absorb MP upon striking a foe and can be sold for 2,250 Gold Coins.
