The iron spear is a more powerful & deadly weapon and it allows you to fight with some distance between you and your enemies.  It has the attack bonus of +20 and can be equipped by The [[Hero (Dragon Quest II)|Prince of Midenhall]] & [[Prince of Cannock]]. It can be bought for 720 gold.

The spear has an attack bonus of +26 (+28 in the [[Nintendo Entertainment System|NES]] Version) and can be equipped by [[Hero (Dragon Quest III)|The Hero]], [[Warrior]]s, [[Martial Artist|Fighter]]s, [[Priest]]s, [[Merchant]]s, [[Gadabout|Jester]]s & [[Sage]]s. It can be purchased at [[Romaly]], [[Kanave]], [[Assaram]], and [[Lancel]] for 650 [[gold]] coins (750 in the NES Version) and sold for 528 gold.

The iron lance has an attack bonus of +28 and can be used by [[Hero (Dragon Quest IV)|The Hero]], [[Ragnar McRyan]], [[Kiryl]] & [[Torneko Taloon]].  [[Hardie]], [[Oojam]] & [[Hank Hoffman Jr.]] have an iron lance among their equipment.
