The knightshade is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest VII, it is a white shadow in the shape of a knight.

While the knightshade was completely white in its initial appearance, it was later shaded a darker grey color, perhaps to make it stand out more in brighter locations.
