For the skill of the name "Psyche Up" that appears in Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest IX and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, see Psyche Up.

PsycheUp (きあいをためる kiai wo tameru roughly translated "Accumulate Fighting Spirit") is an ability that appears in Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters 2. When this skill is used by a monster, that monster will be the final one to attack for that turn, but in exchange their attack will do 50% more damage.

This ability is not to be confused with the skill Psyche Up that first appeared in Dragon Quest VIII, which is known as ためる tameru in Japanese (roughly translated as Accumulate) and has entirely different properties, nor is it to be confused with Focus Strength (known as きあいため kiai tame in Japanese) which is also a different skill.

Dragon Quest Monsters

This ability can be learned by a variety of monsters once they reach at least level 12 with at least 72 HP, 82 strength, and 68 defense. It is naturally learned by the DarkHorn, Golem, MadCandle, ManEater and Saccer.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2

The requirements to learn PsycheUp are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the Moray.
