The Spiked Hare (Almiraj in the GBC translations) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest III, it is stronger, purple furred variant of the Bunicorn.

Characteristics

Spiked Hares are identical in looks to Bunicorns, horned rabbits, only having purple fur instead of gray.

In terms of strength, Spiked Hares are often a threat encountered earlier on, usually when the lesser Bunicorn is no longer troublesome. They are often capable of building up their strength to launch a powerful attack.

Spiked Hares can be encountered in areas near Port Prospect. They can build up their tension to launch powerful attacks, and are capable of lowering a party member's tension with their attacks.
