The Thorn whip is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. It's a very basic whip.

Dragon Quest III
The thorn whip (called the spiny whip in the GBC version) has an attack bonus of +18. It can be equipped by the hero, mages, thieves, jesters, and sages and is obtained by turning in 5 Tiny Medals to the medal collector in Aliahan.

The thorn whip (called the Rosevine whip in this game) has an attack bonus of +18. It can be equipped by Maribel and Aira.
