Map of locations only accessible by Godbirds Soulstone. (circled in red)

The Untrodden Groves refer to all areas of land that are non-accessible by walking or ship, but only by flight with the Godbird's soulstone. In the game itself, they are referred to as Areas Accessible by Air (翼を持つ者の場所, Tsubasa o motsu mono no basho, lit. "Places for those with wings"). These locations in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King include Tryan Gully, Slime Hill, and many other raised lands near-by well-known towns. These places can be distinguished in midair by a thick cover of clouds in the sky.
