The Vis mager is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV.
These powerful demonic sorcerers serve Psaro the Manslayer.
Characteristics
Vis magers are orange-skinned wizened demon humanoids garbed in long white robes with a red cape and a green breastplate with large shoulder pads. They have huge pointed ears, solid green eyes, and green tongues, and wear a green skullcap that covers the tops of their heads. Their feet have three talons and four-fingered hands ending in long claws. Like many other humanoid monsters, they are sometimes depicted with five fingers on their hands instead of four in modern appearances. These mages are some of the strongest of Psaro's forces, capable of casting spells of fearsome power. In the original NES version of IV, they are the only non-boss monsters whose HP reaches 4 digits.
