The Winky is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest IV.
It first appears as a boss alongside Psaro's Pawn, but can be faced as a regular monster afterwards.
Characteristics
Winkies are blue bipedal demons with builds similar to a flightless bird. They have long legs which they can run quickly with, a tiny pair of arms, and their heads are made up almost entirely of a singular giant eyeball surrounded by three pairs of thin frills. It can attack by smacking opponents with its head or even shoot beams out of its eye. Despite its diminutive appearance, a Winky becomes more dangerous when its HP is critical, changing its skin color to red and becoming capable of attacking twice in a turn.
