The Merman is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest III. It is a monstrous fish man that menaces seafaring adventurers.

Characteristics

Mermen are nightmarish twists on old sailor tales of beautiful women living in the depths of the ocean. Though just as sentient as humans are, mermen are ruthless savages who shred their sea-faring prey to bits with razor sharp claws. It has a tendency to make their opponents more vulnerable by casting Kasap.
