The Merry Man is a character in Dragon Quest V. A green-skinned and brown-hooded bandit, he is often seen guarding a chest in various towns during the third generation:
- Coburg: Found along the western castle wall, guarding a chest containing Hela's armour
- Stockenbarrel: Found behind Bianca's house, guarding a chest containing a Silk bustier.
- Precaria: To reach him, the player must pass through the windmill to reach the ledge where he's standing. He is guarding a chest containing Stolos' staff.
