Baramos, known as the Demon Lord and the Arch Fiend, is one of the main villains of Dragon Warrior III. Throughout the first half of the game Baramos is believed to be the final boss; however, when he is defeated by the hero, who returns to Aliahan triumphant, Zoma interrupts the celebrations to reveal Baramos was just an underling of his, and announces his intentions to plunge the world into darkness, causing the hero to continue his quest.
In addition to the primary Baramos at work in Zoma's scheme, his inner circle includes at least two more versions of Baramos, Baramos Bomus and Baramos Gonus (the latter of which appears to be a skeletal form of Baramos). In the Dragon Quest III remakes, a common, repeated enemy in the first bonus dungeon is also a form of Baramos known as Baramevil. Whether the Baramevils were in Zoma's employ is not certain.
