The Frolicker is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV.
Characteristics
Frolickers are small goblin-like creatures with pink skin and a tough purple hide that covers most of its body and the top of its head. It has a long yellow tongue lolling from its mouth that reaches down to its legs that gives the monster its name. When the ghouls first appeared, they had light pink skin with a magenta-colored hide and long blue tongues, gaining their different coloration in remake versions of IV. With their return in X, the frolickers returned to having their original colors. They can be troublesome blighters in battle due to their ability to cast Dazzle to envelop their enemies in illusions and later gained the ability to inflict paralysis as well with their small, wiry claws.
