The Fat rat is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II. While almost identical to the Ratscal, the fat rat has more blue in its coat.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Freaky chubby creatures, the fat rats purely prey on weak adventurers, as they lack the strength to challenge seasoned pros, instead partnering up with stronger monsters, biting and clawing in the chaos. Their opportunism is sometimes mistaken for cowardice, as they'll smartly flee from battle at the first real sign of danger.
