For the monster vocation in Dragon Quest VII, see Prism peacock (vocation).
The Prism Peacock is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in the Dragon Quest Monsters series, it is a quadrupedal bird with multicoloured plumage.
The Prism peacock is a technicolour terror of miscellaneous avian features on a slightly humanoid body. Its exact capabilities vary between games, but it is always a fleet-footed enemy that is capable of breathing intensely hot flames or incinerating foes with powerful fire magic. Interestingly, the original design for the monster showed it as a true quadruped with shoulder parallel to its hips: this depiction has been ditched for the modern, man-like posture that shows it with a distinct separation between its upper and lower limbs.
