#REDIRECT Template:Boomerang, and he is even capable of dual wielding weapons.
Appearance and Personality
Erik is a young man with blue eyes and slicked back, spiky cyan hair that has a single forelock. He has a single gold hoop earring on each ear and wears purple beads around his neck. His clothes are relatively simple, wearing a hooded dark green tunic with lacing that exposes his chest, a red sash tied around his waist, blue trousers, fingerless gloves, and leather shoes worn with orange socks that are held up with string. He carries a scabbard with a dagger on his sash.
Despite his gruff exterior, he has a kind and compassionate heart. As shown when trouble happens for friends and family. He is a seasoned traveler and guides the hero along his journey. Always there to support the Hero whenever there is trouble.
Story
Erik is a young male who grew up in Sniflheim, and was raised by Vikings along with his sister, Mia.
After meeting the Seer and learning that if he takes the Red Orb and meets the Luminary "underground", he will gain forgiveness. Erik then takes the Red Orb and ends up in the prisons of Heliodor Castle, which is underground; it is there where Erik meets the Luminary.
Erik then teams up with the Luminary and journeys alongside him and the rest of party to gather the rest of Orbs and reach the World Tree.
When Erik and the party go to Sniflheim to retrieve the Blue Orb, Erik gets distant and quiet; something is bothering him.
After the World Tree falls and the rest of the party is getting gathered once again, Erik is found as a stowaway on the "Salty Stallion", and it is revealed it has amnesia.
- In Dragon Quest XI S, it is revealed that the amnesia was caused due to the Seer granting him powers to escape Indignus, at the cost of his memories.
A priest in Sniflheim remembers Erik from years before. The Priest then tells that party about Erik's previously unknown past. Hearing this overwhelms Erik and he leaves as his memory struggles to return.
Erik then returns to hut he and his sister grew up in. It is then revealed that Erik accidentally cursed his sister by giving her a relic that turns everything the wearer touches to gold, this includes the wearer. With the help of the Hero he frees his sister of the cursed relic. Finally finding his atonement he was looking for.
Erik wants to stay with the Hero to defeat Mordegon.
When the group finds the 'Orichalum' in the Battleground Erik gets carried away about the value of the gem. Excusing himself for his behaviour and acknowledging it will be used for the 'Sword of Light'.

Trivia
Erik is the second major Dragon Quest character to be depicted as left-handed after Angelo from Dragon Quest VIII. Single weapons are always held in his left, while his dual-wielding skill makes it clear that his left hand is dominant. In addition many cutscenes showing him favoring his left hand to use or hold everyday items.
