Isolated Plateau

The Isolated Plateau is a region in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King that cannot be accessed normally by ship, as it is surrounded by steep cliffs.

In order to reach it, the party must acquire the Illuminated sea chart from the Pirate's Cove. Both the village of Empycchu and the Godbird's Eyrie are located there. It is also possible to reach the World of Darkness from here.

Empycchu

A village that is isolated from the rest of the world. They worship the bird Empyrea as a god.

Godbird's Eyrie

The nest of the bird, Empyrea, located in the southern part of the plateau. It is only accessible using the Godbird's soulstone.
